mmmmmmmmmmmmmmNorthwestern Sports Psychologist Counselor/Researcher:
In all of our programs except the Siebel Sailors Program, we are continuing our partnership in 2022 with a clinical sport psychologist. In addition to conducting research on the therapeutic effects of sailing on youth, the sports psychologist teaches communication, conflict resolution, resiliency and confidence building, both collectively and individually, with students and the staff. A consent form for these activities is included in the registration form. If you subsequently elect not to have your child participate in these activities, please contact us.
Youth participating in our Junior Program and Open Horizons Program in every session except Session 4 are automatically enrolled in our Joint Sailing and Golfing program.
The Joint Sailing and Golfing program is not available in Session 4

Swim Check –·Swimming is recommended, though not required. Instead, all students must be comfortable in the water. Instructors will conduct a swin check on the first day of class. The swim check requires that each child be able to swim 50 feet with a life jacket and clothes on, then tread water. This applies to children who passed the swim check in prior years. Please bring a towel and change of clothes to the first class.
The Chicago Park District offers affordable swimming lessons. Visit the Chicago Park District's website to register for swimming lessons. HERE
